Student Council

Student Voice. Christian Leadership. Real Impact.

At Calumet Christian School, we believe students are called to lead with wisdom, courage, and Christlike character.

Our Student Council gives students from 8th-12th grade a platform to lead, serve, and shape school life — all while growing in integrity, responsibility, and faith. The Student Council is a group of student-elected leaders who represent their classmates and work closely with school staff to help shape the student experience at Calumet Christian. From organizing school-wide events to advocating for student needs, the council gives students a powerful voice and the opportunity to grow as disciples and leaders.

What is Student Council?

Student Council is more than a leadership position — it’s a place to develop your God-given talents, make an impact, and build a legacy of integrity, compassion, and excellence.

  • Develop Leadership Skills
Students learn to lead with confidence and humility, following the model of Christ. From setting agendas to running meetings with parliamentary procedure, students sharpen their communication, collaboration, and decision-making abilities.

  • Strengthen Your Christian Witness
Student leaders are challenged to conduct themselves with academic integrity, moral excellence, and a heart for service, growing into role models both on and off campus.

  • Make Your Voice Heard
Whether it’s organizing events, sharing concerns, or helping shape school life, Student Council ensures that every student has a voice in the decisions that shape their day-to-day experience.

Why Join Student Council?

Student Council is the heartbeat of student leadership at Calumet Christian. Representatives meet regularly to:

  • Plan school-wide events and activities

  • Discuss student needs and concerns

  • Represent the student body to school leadership

  • Model Christian servant-leadership in action

Through this experience, students develop life-long leadership skills rooted in humility, responsibility, and teamwork. Each class (8th-12th) elects representatives to sit on the council. The council meets monthly to discuss student concerns, develop school event ideas, and practice leadership. Class representatives also meet daily during homeroom and hold longer, scheduled class meetings once a month.

Class Officers: The Backbone of Student Leadership

Every class elects four key officers who represent their classmates and lead the way in service and planning:
