THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS
OPEN TO QUALIFYING STUDENTS - These scholarships can be applied to the college of your choice. Each scholarship has specific requirements to be met.
CAREER (MAJOR) SPECIFIC- These scholarships apply to a career field or college major. Some of these must be used at a specific college, while others can be used at the college of your choice.
REQUIRE NOMINATION- These scholarships require the high school to nominate candidates. If there is a scholarship in this category for which you feel you should be nominated please see your counselor.
SCHOOL SPECIFIC - In order to receive a scholarship from a particular college or university you must send an application to and be accepted by that college. The scholarship can only be used at that institution.

The Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Indiana high school seniors who have lost a parent to breast cancer or have a parent currently undergoing breast cancer treatment. Named in honor of our founder, Nancy Jaynes, scholarships of up to $2,500 are available to students attending an Indiana college/university or post-secondary technical school.

Scholarship award winners are eligible to apply for continuation scholarships up to three consecutive years.

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where applicants must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.

Eligibility:
Senior standing – Complete four years of high school in the U.S., a U.S territory or on a U.S. military base and plan to graduate in spring 2025.
Fall College Enrollment – Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2024.
GPA – Earn a minimum, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75 or above.
Demonstrate Unmet Financial Need – We will consider applicants with family annual gross income up to $95,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.

Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.

The Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship was created to provide financial support for those who are looking to pursue higher education to understand how the world works.
This scholarship is open to all students who have a deep curiosity in studying the universe for its own sake—whether that be pursuing studies in physics, philosophy, biology, mathematics, literature, or any other field that seeks better understanding of our existence—and will seek to lift up those from underrepresented communities in those fields, and first-generation college students.
