Statement of Faith
Calumet Christian School Statement of Faith
I. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2
Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:24-25; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
II. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Galatians 4:6; 1
Thessalonians 4:8).
III. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in
His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in
power and glory. (Matthew 1:20-21; John 1:1, 14; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2
Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 9-10; 1 John 2:28).
IV. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit
is absolutely essential (Ezekiel 36:24-27; John 3:3-5; Acts 13:48; 16:14; Ephesians 2:8-
10; Philippians 1:29-30; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 5:1).
V. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is
enabled to live a godly life. (Romans 6:12-14; Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 5:18).
VI. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the
resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (Matthew
25:31-40; John 5:26-29; Romans 6:5; Revelation 20:11-15).
VII. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17:20-21;
Galatians 3:26-28; Ephesians 2:14-18).
VIII. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Matthew 19:4-6).
IX. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and
one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God
intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to
each other. (Genesis 2:18-25; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).
X. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in
outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual
immorality or immoral desires (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior,
celibate same-sex attraction, bi-sexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography)
are sinful and offensive to God. (Exodus 20:14; 22:19; Leviticus 18; Deuteronomy 5:18;
Matthew 15:18-20; Romans 1:26-32; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9-11; Ephesians 5:1-7; Jude 7).
